Report: Aqib Talib may face suspension for intentional facemask
Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib could be facing a suspension for intentionally facemasking Corey Brown during the Super Bowl.
Talib admitted after the game that the grab and twist was completely intentional, and he knew that the resulting penalty would have a minimal affect on yardage.
Now, according to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio, the NFL will consider levying a suspension against Talib, possibly for not only the act, but the admission of intent.
According to Florio, Talib’s comments, as well as his previous history, will be taken into account when determining the league’s course of action.
The Broncos cornerback had quite the reckless first half, and the controversy goes all the way back to the AFC Championship game when he got away with a hold on Rob Gronkowski. A suspension for something as dangerous and intentional as what he did to Brown is probably warranted.
