Arian Foster listed as starter on Dolphins’ depth chart

Arian-Foster

Former All-Pro running back Arian Foster has finally made his way to the front of the pack in the Miami Dolphins’ backfield.

According to a report by Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post on Monday, Foster is now listed as the starting running back on the team’s depth chart ahead of second-year back Jay Ajayi.

The 30-year-old Foster signed with the team in July on a one-year, $1.5 million deal. Though he was standing head and shoulders above the competition in training camp, the Dolphins had previously been hesitant to list Foster as their starter.

Foster hasn’t seen meaningful action since rupturing his Achilles tendon in Week 4 of the 2015 season (ironically, against these very same Dolphins). Now on the back nine of his NFL career thanks to injuries and age, it should be interesting to see if the four-time Pro Bowler can hold off Ajayi for the balance of the 2016 campaign or if the situation develops into more of a timeshare.
