Arrest warrant issued for Josh Gordon over refusal to take paternity test

Josh-Gordon

Stop us if you’ve heard this before: Josh Gordon is facing some legal trouble.

Adam Ferrise of Cleveland.com reported on Wednesday that a warrant has been issued for Gordon’s arrest after he failed to respond to multiple subpoenas in a paternity case. The warrant was authorized on Aug. 31 and stems from a complaint filed on July 2, 2015.

A woman named Christina Lockhart alleges that Gordon is the father of her 1-year-old daughter, and she is seeking child support. Court records show that the Cleveland Browns wide receiver was sent numerous subpoenas to multiple addresses and never responded to any of them. The Browns, the NFL, Adidas and Gordon’s agent Drew Rosenhaus were also subpoenaed, according to Ferrise.

Gordon was ordered by the court to provide a DNA sample nearly a year ago, and he still has not done so.

For a player with a clean record, this sounds like the type of court case that could be cleared up rather quickly. Gordon, however, is obviously in a unique situation. He’s currently serving a four-game suspension for failing yet another drug test. If the recent report we shared with you about Gordon’s standing with the Browns organization is true, the latest legal issue is not going to please the team.
