Report: Baker Mayfield could skip Senior Bowl for family reasons
Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield may be absent from the Senior Bowl.
Mayfield reaffirmed Wednesday that he is still not certain he’ll play in the annual showcase, with NFL reporter Benjamin Allbright reporting that the uncertainty stems from lingering questions about his mother’s health.

The reason Baker Mayfield has not committed to playing in the Senior Bowl is that his Mom is in the hospital, and he's awaiting test results on Thursday.

Mayfield has been noncommittal about playing since his late arrival in Mobile, while we already knew was due to his mother’s illness. Everyone involved would probably like to see him in action, but given the circumstances, it’s easy to understand why there’s still doubt about his status.
