Bears fan’s obituary viciously trolls Jay Cutler

Jay Cutler Bears

Jay Cutler took a pretty vicious hit in one Bears fan’s obituary.

78-year-old Elizabeth Bowman passed away on January 9th, and her obituary recently appeared in the Chicago Tribune. It’s a pretty standard death notice, except for one little thing here:

Elizabeth Porter Bowman, 78, of Northbrook, Illinois died peacefully January 9, 2016, surrounded by her children. Betsy was an elementary school teacher and later a tutor, but her passion and focus was being a dedicated and involved mother and grandmother. She was a woman of loyalty, integrity, opinion, curiosity and intelligence. A lifelong fan of the Cubs, Blackhawks and Bears (except Jay Cutler).

That’s downright cold. 78 years old, a lifelong Bears fan, and simply unable to resist taking one last shot at Jay Cutler, evidently.

Look on the bright side, Jay – in nearly eight decades of life and Bears fandom, you’re the only person who ever played for the franchise who got namedropped in the obituary, even if it’s for all the wrong reasons. Be honored.

She’s hardly alone, either. Somewhere, Brian Urlacher, Brandon Marshall, and even John Cusack are likely nodding their heads in silent agreement with Elizabeth. Rest in peace, Ms. Bowman.
