Report: Bears expected to keep Alshon Jeffery
Alshon Jeffery would be in line for a massive contract if the Chicago Bears allowed him to test free agency, but it does not sound like the team will let it get to that point.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Bears are expected to keep Jeffery, either by working out a long-term extension with him or using the franchise tag.
Bears are expected to retain WR Alshon Jeffery, either by signing him to long term deal or tagging him, per sources.

A previous report indicated that the Bears are hesitant to tag Jeffery, but letting him test the market could end up stinging. Jeffery is just 26 and is easily one of the most talented wide receivers in the league. While he struggled to remain healthy last season, there is no questioning his impact when he is on the field.
If the contract this star wide receiver signed last offseason is any indication, Jeffery is going to get paid handsomely at some point. At the very least, the Bears should franchise tag him and let him play for a contract in 2016.
