Report: Bears reach record deal with Khalil Mack
It took a massive trade, but defensive lineman Khalil Mack ultimately has what he wanted.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Mack has agreed to terms with his new team, the Chicago Bears, on a new contract that will make him the highest-paid defensive player in the history of the NFL.
Khalil Mack and the Bears just reached agreeement on a record-setting 6-year, $141 million extension ($23.5M per year avg) that includes $90M guaranteed and $60M at signing, source tells ESPN.

Aaron Donald’s tenure as the NFL’s richest-ever defensive player lasted all of a day. That deal was apparently what defined the market and led to the Oakland Raiders dealing Mack to Chicago instead of extending him themselves.
Mack beats Donald in overall value by $6 million and in guaranteed money by $3 million. That settles his holdout, and now he can go about getting ready for the season.
