Ben Roethlisberger ‘shocked’ by James Harrison release

Ben Roethlisberger

Ben Roethlisberger says that he was “shocked” by the Pittsburgh Steelers’ release of veteran James Harrison.

The Steelers on Saturday released Harrison, who is in his 15th NFL season and 14th with the franchise. Even though Harrison had hardly played this season, the move caught many, including the Steelers QB, off guard.

“I was shocked,” Roethlisberger said Tuesday on 93.7 The Fan. “You know, I’ve played with that guy for a long time. He’s one of the best that I’ve ever played with. Great teammate, and so it was shocking. I was a little surprised.”

What made matters worse was Harrison decided to sign with the rival New England Patriots upon being released. Not only could the Patriots use him as a pass-rushing option, but Harrison might give the Pats some inside info that could help them beat his former team. Considering he decided to join the rival, it seems like Harrison has revenge on his mind. And we know that Steelers fans are not happy about the move.
