Ben Roethlisberger goes down after landing on right shoulder, quickly returns

Ben Roethlisberger

Ben Roethlisberger went down with a potential injury after being tackled on a scramble early in the fourth quarter of Pittsburgh’s game at Baltimore on Sunday, though he quickly returned to the game.

Big Ben decided to scramble on a 2nd-and-15 and was brought down from behind by Za’Darius Smith. Roethlisberger was down on the ground in pain and was treated by the team’s trainers on the field.

Roethlisberger headed to the sideline and missed a play. He was briefly replaced by backup Josh Dobbs, who came in and completed a first down pass for the Steelers.

Roethlisberger quickly reentered the game and ended up completing a long pass to put Pittsburgh in field goal range, showing he was fine. CBS later reported that Roethlisberger only appeared to have the wind knocked out of him.
