Report: Ben Roethlisberger unlikely to miss more than two games

Ben-Roethlisberger

There has been some concern that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be out more than a month, but one report claims he should return much sooner than that.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Steelers are still optimistic that Roethisberger could return after the team’s Week 8 bye to face the Baltimore Ravens. Team officials would reportedly be “surprised” if Roethlisberger misses more than two games with the knee injury.

For further evidence that Roethlisberger’s absence is not expected to be lengthy, the Steelers have no plans to sign a veteran backup in the coming days.

A previous report indicated that Roethlisberger is expected to be out 4-6 weeks. One former NFL linebacker felt Big Ben was being overly dramatic when he started limping around against the Miami Dolphins last weekend, and Roethlisberger didn’t appreciate the criticism.
