Report: Bengals would like to bring back Hue Jackson or Jay Gruden

Hue Jackson Browns

The Cincinnati Bengals want their next coach to be someone who knows how to get the best out of Andy Dalton — and has the experience to prove it.

According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, league sources believe the Bengals would love to bring back Hue Jackson or Jay Gruden to replace Marvin Lewis as coach. Both were former offensive coordinators under Lewis who had much better luck getting good performances out of Dalton than the team has recently.

Of course, both men are currently coaching elsewhere, and it’s not entirely clear if either will be available this offseason.

Reports indicate that Lewis is wrapping up his tenure as Cincinnati’s head coach. There’s talent in the organization, so it will probably be a solid position that will generate a good amount of interest. It just may not necessarily net either of these two.
