Bill Polian: Patriots are ‘not invincible’

Bill Polian

If you’re a fan of an AFC East team not named the New England Patriots, you’re going to love what Bill Polian had to say on his radio show Tuesday.

According to WEEI, Polian was asked by a caller on his SiriusXM NFL Radio show how the Bills can compete with the Pats. Polian, who as a former Colts executive certainly isn’t the biggest Pats fan, responded by knocking away the mythical aura surrounding the Patriots.

“Tom Brady was a quarter away from losing the Super Bowl last year pretty decisively,” Polian said. “They are a great team. They are not as great as people think they are. They’re not invincible. What they are is exceptionally well-constructed and exceptionally well-coached. But, Tom Brady isn’t going to play forever. He showed some signs of being human last year on a number of occasions, including in the Super Bowl.”

It’s true; the Patriots are not invincible. But they played at an extremely high level last season and they were extremely motivated because of the Deflategate penalties. On top of that, many believe they have improved this offseason, which is why they’re even more intimidating.

If you’re a Buffalo Bills fan, it probably does feel like you’re not going to be able to win the division until Tom Brady retires, which won’t be happening anytime soon.
