Bills QB AJ McCarron fails to impress in final preseason game

AJ McCarron

It’s safe to say that AJ McCarron will not be the answer at quarterback for the Buffalo Bills this season.

McCarron got the chance to start the Bills’ final preseason game on Thursday night, and he did not look good. The team was shutout in the first half of the game. Midway through the third quarter, McCarron’s quarterback rating had dropped to 1.0 as he was 5-for-18 for 39 yards and two interceptions.

That’s the second straight game where McCarron has failed to impress. He went 3-of-6 for just 12 yards in the team’s second preseason game. He also got injured in that game, though his collarbone was not fractured, contrary to a report. Still, he played against the Bears as if he was not at full strength.

The Bills’ starting quarterback job looks like it will come down to Josh “Inaccurate” Allen and Nathan “Five-Pick” Peterman.
