Brandon Marshall ‘not where I want to be,’ may sit out Week 3

New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall doesn’t sound like he’ll be ready for the team’s Sunday tilt against Kansas City.

Marshall practiced on a limited basis Friday, and while he didn’t sound entirely optimistic about playing on his troubled knee, he was holding out hope.

“I’m not where I want to be, but the good thing is there’s still time,” Marshall said Friday, via Zach Braziller of the New York Post. “For me, you got to think about, this is Week 3. Although every game is important, and we approach them that way, you never want to hurt the team or hurt yourself worse. But obviously, I’ve always tried to fight back and done a great job of being on the field. I’ve always tried to get out there.”

Marshall is listed as questionable and will likely be a game-time decision on Sunday. It doesn’t sound like his MCL issue is too serious, though, and he doesn’t seem likely to miss more than a week if he sits out at all.
