Brandon Marshall announces he has signed with Seahawks

The NFL’s wide receiver free agent pool got a little smaller on Tuesday, and that is not because Dez Bryant found a home. Brandon Marshall, another veteran receiver who has been looking for work, announced that he has signed with the Seattle Seahawks.

Marshall posted a series of three photos on Instagram in which he shared the big news.

Marshall was released by the New York Giants this offseason, and he visited with the Seahawks earlier this month. The 34-year-old had a disappointing year in 2017 that was cut short by injury, but Seattle has lost Jimmy Graham and Paul Richardson to free agency and could use the receiving depth.

The terms of the deal are not yet known, but it seems unlikely that Marshall would get big money at this point in his career. He has yet to appear in the playoffs, and Seattle should have a decent chance to be competitive in 2018. Marshall won’t be a lock to make the final roster, especially if his ankle is not completely healed.
