Brett Favre’s fantasy football quarterback is … Aaron Rodgers

Brett-Favre-Aaron-RodgersGreen Bay Packers legend Brett Favre and heir to the throne Aaron Rodgers may have a fairly awkward relationship, but Favre is a retiree now. He no longer plays football on Sundays, unless he’s slinging the pigskin with some buddies in his Wrangler jeans. Instead, Favre plays fantasy football like the rest of us. And you’ll never guess who his starting quarterback is.

During an interview on NFL Network’s “NFL GameDay Morning” on Sunday, Favre revealed that he has a rooting interest in Rodgers and his old team this season.

“It is true. And I have 27 minutes left to set my team,” Favre said. “Aaron is my quarterback. And he’s usually guaranteed to get me about 30 points. First week I think he got me about 45. … He’s been good.”

Favre added that his wife’s team has been killing his this season, as he has dealt with injuries to players like New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola. Hopefully the health of his team didn’t get any worse with all the significant injuries like Arian Foster, Doug Martin and Reggie Wayne that took place over the weekend.

Maybe that explains why Favre recently admitted he was at fault for the ugly ending to his tenure in Green Bay. Did he have an early fantasy draft and already have Rodgers on his squad at that point? Favre also later said he believes Rodgers will shatter all of his team records, which could have been fantasy football wishful thinking. Now it all makes sense.
