Brian Hartline declines postgame interviews to ‘keep a job’
There was a lot of frustration in the Cleveland Browns’ locker room following the team’s 37-3 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Some players had to watch their words in order to avoid making headlines for their negativity. One such player was Brian Hartline.
Hartline, who had eight catches for 83 yards, declined to speak with the media because, in his words, he wanted to keep his job.

Probably a wise move, Hartline. There was nothing he needed to say that would have helped. Everyone there should have been frustrated after the terrible loss, and if they weren’t, they shouldn’t be on the team. And if Hartline was upset with the choice of quarterback for the contest, then he should be happy about Johnny Manziel reportedly starting the rest of the season.
