Report: Brock Osweiler to choose between Broncos, Texans

Brock Osweiler

The Denver Broncos reportedly have legitimate competition from at least one other team when it comes to signing Brock Osweiler.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on “SportsCenter” Tuesday that Osweiler has narrowed his decision down to the Broncos and Houston Texans. Schefter said there is now a “battle between those two teams” to sign the 25-year-old.

The Texans, who finished 9-7 last season despite not having a viable starting quarterback, are an intriguing option. However, they will likely have to offer Osweiler more money than the Broncos in order to pry him away from Denver.

Osweiler already has experience playing in Gary Kubiak’s offense, as he appeared in eight games last season and went 5-2 as a starter. It’d be tough to imagine him turning down an opportunity to stick with the defending champions unless there was a huge discrepancy in money.

Over the weekend, Osweiler was involved in a confrontation with some hecklers outside a restaurant (video here). While he wisely decided to walk away, he did shove a woman aside. It’s unclear if Osweiler will face any disciplinary action from the NFL.
