Brock Osweiler credits Peyton Manning for teaching him ‘how to be a pro’

Brock Osweiler

Brock Osweiler may not have had the cleanest departure from the Denver Broncos, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t still appreciate the tutelage of Peyton Manning.

Osweiler credited Manning for teaching him how to be a pro during the four years they spent together.

“When you start talking about what I’ve learned from Peyton and what I’ve pulled from him, we would need hours to get to the full list,” Osweiler said last Thursday, via Drew Dougherty of the Texans’ official website.

“The thing I truly pulled away from Peyton is how to be a pro on a daily basis, how to be the same guy Monday through Sunday, whether it’s April or whether it’s November,” Osweiler said. “I’ll always be very appreciative for Peyton. Whether he knew it or not, I was watching him and he taught me how to be a pro.”

Osweiler was reportedly less than pleased that he was benched during the final game of the regular season in favor of Manning, but those hard feelings seem to be directed more at the organization than at Manning himself. At least there’s one aspect of Osweiler’s Broncos tenure that he’ll look back on fondly.
