Brock Osweiler getting assistance from wife in learning playbook

Brock Osweiler wife Erin

When it comes to learning the Houston Texans’ playbook, it’s a family affair for Brock Osweiler.

Osweiler signed with the Texans in free agency this offseason and has been hustling to learn everything about his new offense so that he can properly lead the franchise. After all, he wants to make sure Houston sees a good return on investment for the four-year, $72 million contract they gave him in March.

Not only has the former Broncos QB been studying the Texans’ playbook on his own, but he also enlisted the help of his wife, Erin, during OTAs.

“My wife will act as the offensive coordinator at times during the evening,” Osweiler said in a feature for ESPN about all the work he’s been putting in. “I’ll have her read the full play to me. I’ll sit there and try to picture it, spit it back out to her, make sure I’m verbalizing it the right way so that when I step into the huddle the next day in practice, things are coming out clear.”

Well, the secret has been revealed. If opposing teams want to get a glimpse of the Texans’ secrets, they now know to get Erin drunk. Just kidding.

The Texans and their fans must be comforted by the time and effort Osweiler has been putting in, and it’s always nice to know that there is a spouse supporting the efforts. Of course, they already knew how serious Osweiler was about his job when he skipped the Broncos’ White House visit.
