Report: Broncos interested in bringing back Ronnie Hillman

Ronnie-Hillman

The Denver Broncos have already spent more than they hoped they would on running back C.J. Anderson, but that does not mean bringing back Ronnie Hillman is out of the question.

Mike Klis of KUSA reports that the Broncos reached out to Hillman last week to express their interest in the unrestricted free agent.

What are the chances he comes back? Probably not all that great, as other NFL teams are said to be interested and the Broncos have extremely limited salary cap space. However, Hillman did lead the team with 863 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in the regular season last year. Anderson was the better back in the playoffs after getting off to a slow start.

If Hillman does end up re-signing with Denver, he will serve as the change-of-pace back to Anderson in 2016. When you see the offer sheet the Broncos had to match to keep Anderson, you get a clear idea of how they envision his role next season.
