Broncos said to be ‘in’ on Sam Bradford

Sam Bradford

The Denver Broncos are still in search of a quarterback to compete with Mark Sanchez for the starting job, and they reportedly are “in” on Sam Bradford.

News 9 in Denver’s Mike Klis reported Wednesday that the Broncos have spoken with the Eagles about Bradford, who is looking to be traded after Philly traded up for the No. 2 pick in the draft. The expectation is that the Eagles will select a quarterback, essentially making Bradford a lame duck.

The problem is that the Eagles reportedly want more than a second-round pick for Bradford and at this point are not trading him. Bradford is projected to enter the season as the Eagles’ starting quarterback, but that could change if they draft Carson Wentz. The Eagles also paid good money for Chase Daniel to compete with Bradford for the job.

In addition to Bradford, the Broncos have shown interest in Colin Kaepernick, but they want him to take a pay cut. They also have shown interest in free agent Brian Hoyer, and they could explore drafting one of the QBs not projected to go in the first two picks, such as Paxton Lynch or Connor Cook.

If the Broncos end up with Bradford, they would essentially become Philadelphia-west, as the Eagles had both Bradford and Sanchez on their roster last season.
