Browns RB Brandon Jackson happy to see Pat Shurmur gone

Brandon Jackson BrownsCleveland Browns running back Brandon Jackson is happy to see Pat Shurmur gone as the team’s head coach. At least that’s what he indicated in response to a fan on Friday.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, during warmups at Browns training camp in Berea, a crowd heckler yelled “Raise your hand if you’re glad Shurmur’s gone!” as the players had one hand up in the air during a stretch. The Plain Dealer says Jackson “shot up both (arms), to a chorus of cheers.”

Jackson was a healthy scratch nearly all of last season and only played in two games, rushing eight times for 54 yards. Shurmur was the team’s head coach each of the last two seasons and was fired after going 9-23 in that span. Jackson missed the 2011 season with turf toe and then rode the pine almost all of last season.

Jackson probably isn’t the only person in Cleveland happy that Shurmur is gone. We’ll see what new coach Rob Chudzinski can do with the team.
