Browns, Broncos expected to pursue AJ McCarron
AJ McCarron won his grievance with the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday and will become an unrestricted free agent next month. As a free agent, he’s expected to have many suitors.
Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot says the Cleveland Browns will have interest in McCarron. Browns head coach Hue Jackson coached McCarron in Cincinnati and even tried to acquire him in a trade before the deadline. The Browns are expected to use one of their many high draft picks on a quarterback, but Jackson would like to have someone with more experience as well.
On Wednesday, Altitude Sports Network’s Vic Lombardi told Pro Football Talk that that he expected the Broncos to have interest in McCarron if he became an unrestricted free agent, which was the case.
McCarron, 27, has completed 86 of 133 (64.6 percent) passes for six touchdowns and two interceptions in his career. He will join a free agent quarterback class that also includes Kirk Cousins and Case Keenum.
