Report: Browns not trading Josh Gordon despite interest from teams

Josh-Gordon

The Cleveland Browns have reportedly received numerous calls about the availability of Josh Gordon, but the star wide receiver is staying put for the time being.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns have had “multiple teams” reach out about Gordon, but a team source said the 25-year-old is not on the trade block.

“Cleveland has tried to establish an environment in which Gordon could thrive, and many around league believe Hue Jackson would be the right coach for him,” Schefter said. “Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if any team is willing to part with enough to get the Browns interested.”

That last part seems to indicate the Browns have not exactly told teams Gordon is off-limits.

Gordon has been suspended for the first four games of the season, and Jackson already made some interesting comments about his impending return. If Gordon can return to his pre-suspension form, there’s no question he would be an incredibly valuable weapon for the Browns. However, he has been working his way back from a quad injury and has not played since he appeared in five games two seasons ago. It could be a while before we see the Josh Gordon of old.
