Browns reportedly were shut down on Jimmy Garoppolo trade attempt again
The Cleveland Browns really won’t take no for an answer when it comes to Jimmy Garoppolo.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns inquired on Thursday night about Garoppolo’s availability. The New England Patriots told them they weren’t interested in a trade.

The Browns are trying hard to get a quality quarterback, so you can’t blame them for exploring all options. The guy they reportedly wanted — Mitchell Trubisky — was taken No. 2 overall by the Chicago Bears. That led the Browns to look into Garoppolo. They also reportedly inquired about Kirk Cousins.
Cleveland has been stockpiling picks in the draft. It seems their first plan was to try using the picks to acquire a good QB, while Plan B was to use the picks on players they like. They ended up drafting Myles Garrett, Jabrill Peppers and David Njoku in the first round.
