Browns indicate they will give Josh Gordon another chance

Josh-Gordon

The NFL decided on Monday to give Josh Gordon another chance, and it sounds like the Cleveland Browns will do the same.

Browns president of football operations Sashi Brown said in a statement that Gordon, who has been reinstated but will be suspended for the first four games of the season, will receive full supoort from the team.

“With the league’s decision to afford Josh the opportunity to resume his career, he will be with us for the start of training camp,” Brown said, per Mark Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “At that time, we will discuss directly with Josh the direction of our team, our expectations of our players and a plan to support him on and off the field.”

Gordon is one of the most talented wide receivers in the NFL and is still just 25, but one report makes it seem like the Browns could explore the possibility of trading him. For now, it sounds like they will give him an opportunity to prove he has straightened out his act.

Of course, Gordon has spent a good amount of time over the offseason partying with his trainwreck of a former teammate. The Browns will undoubtedly suggest that he put a stop to that.
