Browns WR Corey Coleman viewed as ‘the guy’

Corey Coleman

The Cleveland Browns are expecting big things from Corey Coleman next season.

Browns head coach Hue Jackson referred to Coleman as “the guy” when talking about expectations the team has for the 2016 first-round pick next season.

“He’s got to go do it now, because he’s now seen as the ‘the guy,’ so he needs to go play and play well,” Jackson said of Coleman, via ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi.

Coleman started off the season well with 7 catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns before breaking his hand. He returned in November but never really got it going after that.

The Browns lost last season’s leading receiver Terrelle Pryor in free agency, though they did sign Kenny Britt.

Based on the way he looked to start the season, plus his high expectations from being a No. 15 overall pick, it’s no surprise the Browns will be banking on Coleman entering next season. The big question is who will be throwing passes to him.
