Bruce Arians upset referees missed blocked field goal call
Sunday night’s game between the Cardinals and Seahawks was pretty much a stinkfest, but that won’t stop Arizona head coach Bruce Arians from complaining about a missed call.
The Cardinals attempted a 39-yard field goal early in the second quarter when the game was scoreless. The kick was blocked by Seattle’s Bobby Wagner, who hurdled the center and went right up the middle. But Wagner made contact with the center, which is illegal because you are not allowed to use another player to gain leverage, and it should result in a penalty. Yet the refs missed the call and Arians lost a timeout for attempting to challenge the play as that part was not reviewable.
The same thing happened in overtime when Arizona attempted a 24-yard field goal to win the game 9-6. There were some questions about the contact Wagner may have made with the center again on the kick, which was missed.
Arians was pretty steamed after the game about the calls.
BA on the blocked kick in regards to contact (he threw challenge flag): "We'll talk to the league & get some answer that's all bulls#*t…"

Seattle ended up missing a 28-yard field goal of their own, which allowed the game to end in a 6-6 tie.
Still, as Arians said, he’d much rather have had a win than a tie.
