Cam Newton: Baby son Chosen has changed me
Cam Newton’s life changed in a major way last year … and it wasn’t just from taking his game to another level and becoming the league MVP and a Super Bowl quarterback.
Newton’s girlfriend gave birth to their first child — a son named Chosen Sebastian Newton in December. Their son isn’t even a year old, but he’s already changed Cam’s life.
In an interview with NBC that aired prior to Thursday’s Panthers-Broncos season-opener, Newton said fatherhood gives him purpose.
“It gives me purpose. A lot of purpose,” Newton told NBC’s Mike Tirico.
Tirico also asked Newton if he changes diapers and what that is like.
“I look at it as if how does a baby — I don’t understand how poo can come out of his back!”
Cam also joked about how he handles the diaper changing.
“I’m in there, I’m Omaha-ing it up, I’m changing the protection,” Newton joked.
