Cam Newton car accident – Panthers haven’t lost a game since

Cam-Newton-truck-flipped

Exactly one year ago, Cam Newton was involved in a terrifying car accident that could have ended much worse for him. The Carolina Panthers have not lost a regular season football game since.

As ESPN’s Adam Schefter notes, Newton was 3-8-1 last season prior to flipping his truck on the freeway in North Carolina. Remarkably, he missed just one game with fractures in his back before returning to lead the Panthers to wins in their final two games of the season. Carolina ended up sneaking into the playoffs with a 7-8-1 record and knocking off the Arizona Cardinals in the first round.

And, of course, the Panthers are off to a 12-0 start this season.

When you see some of the photos from Newton’s accident, you get an understanding of how lucky he is to be alive, let alone playing in the NFL. The fact that he has bounced back to play at an MVP-level is something that can’t be understated.
