Celtics, Pelicans mentioned as possibilities for Greg Monroe
Greg Monroe reached a buyout agreement with the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, and there are already some teams being mentioned as a potential landing spot.
Almost immediately after the buyout agreement was reported, multiple reporters said the Boston Celtics were a team to watch for in the Monroe sweepstakes.

Look for the #Celtics to have interest in Greg Monroe, a definite post presence, can score around the rim and showed in MIL and PHX he can come off the bench. Also, would love to join winning situation.

The Vertical’s Chris Mannix also mentioned the Oklahoma City Thunder as a possibility.
Boston is expected to be high on Monroe's free agent list, a source familiar with Monroe's thinking told @YahooSports. A darkhorse team to watch: Oklahoma City.

Market will be robust for Greg Monroe–and Boston, armed with an $8.4 million DPE, will likely be an aggressive suitor. Celtics need a big, and Monroe has killed them in years past.

In addition to the Celtics and Thunder, the Pelicans and Bucks are mentioned as teams that could have interest in Monroe.
Monroe was with Milwaukee prior to being traded to Phoenix. Meanwhile, New Orleans would be a homecoming for the 27-year-old center. The Pelicans could also be interested after losing DeMarcus Cousins to an Achilles injury on Friday.
