Is This a Legal Hit in the NFL?

We know the CFL has fans who can drink and no fair catch rule, but I didn’t know they had guys who could lay the lumber like this.  The first thing I thought to myself when I saw the video of Chris Szarka getting jacked up in the CFL Bango Bowl was, “Would that hit fly in the NFL?”  With all the rules the NFL has come up with now, I’d be willing to guarantee the defensive player would get flagged for unnecessary roughness on this play.  Looks like he “launches himself at the receiver” to use NFL official terminology.  Check out the video from SI Hot Clicks:

Talked about jacked up, that was insane. As for the NFL, they wouldn’t even allow Calvin Johnson’s catch. Why would we expect that to fly?

I’d actually like the NFL to crack down on cheap shot artists like Polamalu who try to go helmet first into guys’ knees.

Definitely a flag in the NFL. But, look at all the other things in that video that wouldn’t go over in the NFL. On field advertisements (one is a casino) and a score of 24 to 1???
