Chad Ochocinco Quit Tweeting for Three Weeks After Losing Bet

October 6, 2011 by Larry Brown • Comments

Anyone who follows New England Patriots receiver Chad Ochocinco on Twitter will realize that the typically prolific social media maven has been inactive the last several days. In fact, Ocho hasn’t tweeted since September 24th. For a guy who’s sent over 30,000 tweets, that’s a long hiatus.

So why hasn’t he been tweeting lately? Is it all part of fitting in with the Patriots way? Is it his response to being called out for a lack of production? Apparently not.

Ochocinco told Ian Rappoport of the Boston Herald that he hasn’t been tweeting because he lost a bet. The terms of the bet were that he had to step away from the tweet game for three weeks.

Ocho’s almost two-thirds of the way there, so he’s closing in on his final day. Something tells me that he’s eager to get back on the tweeting tip after taking such a long break.

I don’t know about you, but I welcome the change. Between pictures of him waiting tables and talks of wrangling snakes, the hiatus has been a welcomed change.
