Report: Chiefs hope to have Jamaal Charles back for possible playoff run

Jamaal Charles

The Kansas City Chiefs are refusing to give up on running back Jamaal Charles.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs are hopeful that they can get Charles back on the field for Week 17 at the earliest. Failing that, Kansas City will aim to get Charles on the field for a possible playoff game.

Charles is presently on injured reserve, but the Chiefs could bring him back after eight weeks if they deem him healthy and able.

Of course, Charles turns 30 in December, is coming off a meniscus injury, and may not be his usual self fresh off an injury. Even if the Chiefs get the best case scenario on Charles, he may not be sharp, and his contributions may be limited.
