Colin Kaepernick being hampered by arm fatigue
Here’s a development that certainly isn’t going to help Colin Kaepernick stave off Blaine Gabbert for the San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback job.
49ers head coach Chip Kelly said on Friday that Kaepernick is suffering from arm fatigue and is being limited in practice ahead of Sunday’s preseason opener against the Houston Texans, per Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.
Colin Kaepernick will be limited due to "arm fatigue" at practice today vs. Texans, #49ers coach Chip Kelly said.

Kelly also added that, while Kaepernick will see some action on Sunday, he will come off the bench behind Gabbert, per John McClain of ESPN.

Kaepernick and Gabbert have reportedly been getting equal reps under center in training camp, and all indications are that the battle is a dead heat. But if Gabbert manages a strong showing while Kaepernick is limited, he could put a stranglehold on the starting QB gig as the Niners head into next season.
