Colin Kaepernick reportedly still receiving no interest from NFL teams

Colin Kaepernick

Veteran safety Eric Reid signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Panthers earlier this week, and many wondered if that means Colin Kaepernick has a chance to find work before the end of the season. That still seems highly unlikely.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Kaepernick is still receiving no interest from NFL teams. While there were reportedly multiple teams interested in signing Reid before he agreed to a deal with the Panthers, the same cannot be said for Kaepernick.

La Canfora added that Kaepernick’s agents continue to reach out to teams as injuries pile up, but those calls, emails and text messages have largely been ignored.

Like Kaepernick, Reid is suing the NFL for collusion. The two were teammates together with the San Francisco 49ers and are considered leaders in the national anthem protest movement. Kaepernick’s case against the league is going to trial, and proceedings are expected to begin in December. Although Reid is now playing in the NFL again, his collusion case will not be impacted.

Kaepernick, 30, has not played since 2016. His lawyer recently hinted that two NFL teams have shown interest, but there have been no indications that he was telling the truth.
