Giants rookie Cooper Taylor renting out his apartment during Super Bowl week

Cooper-Taylor-GiantsThe New York Giants would have loved to play for a championship in front of their home fans in the Super Bowl this season, but their 2013 campaign has turned out to be a major disappointment. That doesn’t mean rookie defensive back Cooper Taylor isn’t going to find a silver lining.

According to the NY Post, Cooper and his girlfriend Susan Carlson are attempting to rent out their two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in Rutherford for $9,000 during the week of the Super Bowl. The couple has posted a listing on Craigslist.

“We thought it would be the best time to get out of the city and go on vacation because that week will be a madhouse,” Taylor said. “I am definitely disappointed that we are not playing in it. It would make it a lot more fun.”

Taylor and Carlson say successfully renting the place out would more than cover the cost of their short vacation into New York City. While they did not specifically say in the listing that the apartment is currently rented by a Giants player, there was a subtle hint.

“We are big fans of a local team here and unfortunately will not be attending this year,” the Craigslist add says.

Taylor makes $450,000 per season, which is a lot less than some other players around the league. I’m sure he lives comfortably, but that’s not enough money where the opportunity to make $9,000 in a single week wouldn’t be enticing. The unit is 1,000 square feet and includes a 70-inch TV. It is fully furnished and just a mile from MetLife Stadium. If you’re planning to make a week-long, $9,000 vacation out of your trip to the Super Bowl, act now!
