Cordarrelle Patterson: Lambeau Field is not that loud

Cordarrelle-Patterson-VikingsThe Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers played their way to a rare tie on Sunday. A game that featured six field goals ended with a score of 26-26 after the overtime period expired. Most people expected the Packers to beat the Vikings even with Aaron Rodgers still out, but maybe their fans should have done more to help. According to Minnesota rookie Cordarrelle Patterson, Lambeau Field is not that loud.

“It’s really not that loud here,” Patterson said after the game, via the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “It wasn’t loud at all. I guess the crowd wasn’t into it like they should be. But once that overtime started, the crowd picked up a little bit.”

Packers fans are known for being some of the most devoted people in sports. They stick it out through ice storms and 0-degree wind chills, but Patterson has apparently heard much louder. In fact, he thinks the 2-8-1 Vikings have rowdier fans.

“When we’re back in the Metrodome, it’s always rocking,” he said. “We’re louder, of course. Most definitely. We got the No. 1 fan base in the country.”

The Packers are 0-3-1 in their last four games, despite facing a series of mediocre teams. They desperately need Rodgers to return. It’s quite possible the fans have sensed that and it’s sucking the enthusiasm out of them. I’m sure Lambeau will be much louder when No. 12 makes his return.
