Cowboys throw fans for a loop by tweeting Michael Vick quote
It’s no secret that the Dallas Cowboys are looking for a backup quarterback. It’s also no secret that Michael Vick is open to playing one more year. Combine the two, and you have a recipe for trolling.
On Saturday, the Cowboys tweeted out a quote that Vick offered on Thursday’s Rich Eisen Show — namely, that every kid growing up dreamed of wearing the famous star on their helmet, himself apparently included.

That whipped up the fans, who wondered if this was a sign that the Cowboys, who need a backup to Tony Romo after Kellen Moore got hurt, had their sights set on Vick.
Not so, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
Solid trolling, but this isn't happening https://t.co/IkTACuGbgK

So basically, this is the Cowboys’ social media team having a bit of timely fun. Vick will continue hunting for a contender, while Dallas will continue hunting for a veteran backup that can come in as soon as possible.
