Report: Cowboys permitting other teams to speak with, visit Tony Romo
Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys finally appear to be accepting the inevitable — somewhat.
According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Jones has notified the NFL’s 31 other general managers that the Cowboys are granting permission for any team to speak to, visit with, or work out quarterback Tony Romo, despite the fact that he remains under contract in Dallas.

The Cowboys informed clubs they are "limited to conversations concerning (Romo's) 2017-19 NFL player contract." (i.e. to facilitate a trade)

The second part is an important caveat, as it’s an indicator that the Cowboys are still hoping to trade Romo, and they’re apparently hoping this will help bring one about. So far, they haven’t found any success in that regard, and it seems unlikely that this will change things much. Ultimately, with OTAs looming, Romo’s Cowboys career is probably over soon either way. It’s just a matter of how it happens.
