Dak Prescott no longer saying Cowboys are Tony Romo’s team

Dak Prescott

Initially respectful and deferential, Dak Prescott has finally changed his tune about his place on the Dallas Cowboys.

On Wednesday, the Cowboys rookie quarterback declined to say the team belongs to Tony Romo, which is what he had done earlier in the season.

As recently as mid-October, Prescott was still calling the Cowboys Romo’s team. But he continues to have more and more success at quarterback, and everyone around the league is realizing the Cowboys can’t bench him.

Dallas is 6-1, has a six-game winning streak, which includes an impressive win in Green Bay and a comeback at home against the Eagles last weekend. Prescott is proving he’s the real deal, and his confidence is starting to grow.

And not only is Prescott’s tune changing, but so is owner Jerry Jones’. Initially reluctant to count out Romo and anoint Prescott the starter, the Cowboys owner hinted this week that Dak may remain the team’s starter even after Romo is cleared for a return.
