Dak Prescott downplays talk of locker room issues with Cowboys

Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys have not been able to perform consistently enough on offense to win games this season, and there has already been plenty of talk about players being frustrated and head coach Jason Garrett on the hot seat. Dak Prescott insists the team is ignoring all of that behind closed doors.

Prescott was asked by reporters on Thursday if there are any issues within the Cowboys’ locker room after their disappointing 2-3 start. The quarterback insisted everything is fine.

The question arose in large part because wide receiver Allen Hurns defended Prescott earlier this week in the wake of his two-interception performance against the Houston Texans. Hurns indicated that play-calling has been the issue for Dallas, and public finger-pointing is always a bad look. Hurns also said the Cowboys’ receivers have been getting separation consistently.

Prescott says those remarks have been addressed.

Without Dez Bryant, the Cowboys have clearly lacked a big-play threat in the passing game. Defenses are loading up to stop Ezekiel Elliott and challenging Prescott to throw, and the results have not been good. Hurns isn’t the first Dallas receiver to feel the need to defend himself this season, and things could get worse before they get better if the Cowboys can’t string together a couple of victories.
