Darrelle Revis sharing inside information on New York Jets with Bucs

Darrelle RevisDarrelle Revis was traded from the New York Jets to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the offseason, and wouldn’t you know, the teams will meet during Week 1 of the NFL season.

One thing the Jets probably didn’t count on when they made the trade was Revis using his inside information to help beat his former team, which is exactly what the cornerback is doing.

According to Tampa Bay Times Bucs reporter Rick Stroud, Revis said Wednesday that he is sharing his knowledge of the Jets with his new teammates to help them prepare.

“I know these guys…I got a bunch of tips on these guys and the good thing about it, I’ve been sharing them. We’ll come in this game real comfortable just the experience of me knowing these guys,” Revis said of his old and new teammates.

Revis also says he’s talking with Tampa’s offensive coordinator to give him information on what the Jets’ defense does.

“I’ll spill the beans and let him know what we used to run.. what things coach Ryan might do. It’s almost like stealing a little bit. That’s what you’ve got to do.”

Well, that certainly is nice and all that Revis will be sharing the information with his new team, but this is the Jets we’re talking about. Is anyone really too concerned with them? Do you even have to worry about “stealing” when they’re going to be using Geno Smith at quarterback? Probably not. But this is just more reason to anticipate a big Bucs win, even if they are on the road.
