DeAndre Hopkins: Deshaun Watson means ‘anything is possible’ for Texans

Deshaun Watson

Rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson has the Houston Texans firmly believing in big things.

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins had big praise for his quarterback, saying that his success did not come as a surprise to him — and he makes the team confident in good things happening.

“From training camp when he came in and the way he handled himself in the film room, even when in training camp he wasn’t getting reps with the ones, he was still learning,” Hopkins said, via Sarah Barshop of ESPN. “He was still going over things, talking about it to us when he got the opportunity, and it’s presented itself.

“Nobody in this locker room is honestly surprised with the way he’s developed so far.”

Hopkins added that Watson’s success has led the Texans offense to adopt an aggressive killer mentality.

“Every time we step on the field, we want to score,” Hopkins said. “If we don’t, then we’re disappointed. We don’t settle for three. We know with the ball in No. 4’s hands, anything is possible.”

No rookie has ever thrown more touchdowns through six games than Watson has since the NFL-AFL merger. It’s safe to say he has won over his teammates very quickly.
