DeAndre Hopkins compares Deshaun Watson to Michael Vick
Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has some particularly high praise for his team’s rookie quarterback.
Hopkins had a lot of good things to say about his fellow Clemson alum, comparing him to one of the elite quarterbacks of the NFL’s past.
“I saw him do it in college, but this is the NFL,” Hopkins said of Watson, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “So, of course I’m impressed. I haven’t seen a quarterback do that in a long time besides Michael Vick. Of course, everybody in this locker room is impressed.”
Hopkins also discussed how impressed he was with how quickly Watson improves on a weekly basis.
“A lot of improvement,” Hopkins said. “You guys seen last week’s game. It speaks for itself what he does out there on the field.”
Hopkins didn’t back Watson to start during camp, but the rookie has clearly won him over — and if you believe Hopkins, he’s won the locker room over as well.
