Derek Wolfe told Tom Brady he would eat his children?

Derek Wolfe

Denver Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe was an important piece of a championship defense last season, and he is clearly very committed to his craft of intimidating opposing players.

In an appearance on ESPN’s “Highly Questionable” Monday, Broncos safety T.J. Ward was asked why Wolfe’s name always comes up as one of the most feared players on Denver’s defense. Ward said it might have something to do with Wolfe’s trash talking ability.

“Wolfe, he says some things out there that are highly questionable,” Ward said with a laugh. “He don’t say too much. He’s a dog on the field. He really don’t take no mess from nobody. I heard him hit somebody with the Mike Tyson. He told somebody he was gonna eat their kids. I think it was Tom Brady.”

Ward did not say whether the comment came in the AFC Championship Game, but Wolfe had six tackles, a sack and four quarterback hits in that game. That makes you wonder if he was the player who tried to commit a lewd act on Brady after hitting him, though Ward claims he isn’t sure who was responsible for that.

Brady has been around long enough that we doubt he was rattled by a defender going Mike Tyson on him. And even if he was, it probably didn’t matter in the AFC Championship Game. You can see the video of Ward’s interview below:
