DeSean Jackson downplays frustration after failed two-point conversion

DeSean Jackson downplayed his sideline blowup after Jameis Winston missed him on a two-point conversion attempt Sunday against the Giants.

Jackson threw his gloves and was seen yelling on the sidelines after the failed attempt in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Week 4 win over the Giants. But he says that’s no big deal and just a part of a playmaker wanting to help his team.

“It’s just part of being a playmaker in this league that wants to make plays,” Jackson said Tuesday, via the Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud. “Anytime I get the opportunity to get the ball, I just want to make good plays and help my team win the game and just create big plays. It was just a part of that.”

For all of the good things the Bucs have done in the passing game, Winston and Jackson have been unable to find their rhythm. Jackson has just nine catches for 143 yards and a touchdown through three games. Those numbers aren’t bad, they’re just not what Jackson’s used to.

Jackson is particularly useful as a deep threat, but Winston has missed him on those attempts. Once they get that figured out, expect the Bucs’ passing game to be even better. If they don’t, then Jackson’s sideline issues may increase.
