Report: Deshaun Watson had extremely ‘positive’ meeting with Texans
Deshaun Watson is hoping to be chosen early in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday. But even if he tumbles down the board a bit, it doesn’t sound like there is much risk of the former Clemson star falling out of the first round entirely.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Houston Texans recently had an “overwhelmingly positive” meeting with Watson and could take him at No. 25 if he’s still available.
If Deshaun Watson is there in late 1, keep an eye on the #Texans. His visit was overwhelmingly positive for all. He loved it, team did, too.

Watson is a complete wild card, as there has been speculation that he could be anywhere from the first to fourth quarterback selected. If the Cleveland Browns end up picking Mitchell Trubisky at No. 1 or trading up from No. 12 to get the former North Carolina star, there’s a chance the New York Jets could grab Watson at No. 6.
At the very least, Watson does not lack confidence. He proved he can win on the big stage by leading an incredible comeback against Alabama in the National Championship Game, and he recently issued a warning to any team that passes up the chance to draft him. The Texans could be a good fit.
