Dez Bryant returns to practice, could face Seahawks

Dez Bryant

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant took a big step toward returning to game action when he returned to the practice field on Wednesday.

Todd Archer of ESPN.com reported that Bryant would be a limited participant, though his return to an official practice is certainly a positive sign. Bryant was initially looking to play against the Dallas Cowboys last weekend and could suit up against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday.

The Cowboys are 2-4 but remain very much in the playoff race thanks to mediocre play in the NFC East division. The division-leading New York Giants are 4-3, and the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles are both 3-4. If Dallas can get Bryant back this week and Tony Romo in a few weeks, a postseason berth isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

Bryant managed to become a part of the story last week even when he wasn’t playing, as he got into a heated exchange with Greg Hardy on the sideline (see the video here). While a report from over the weekend indicated that Dez felt some discomfort in his foot recently, he said Tuesday that he is not opposed to playing at less than 100 percent.

“That’s my choice, we’re going to see about it,” he said, according to The Dallas Morning News. “If I can go, I’m going to go.”

The Cowboys may be without starting running back Joseph Randle (oblique injury) against Seattle. Getting Bryant back would be an enormous help.
